I know a lot of us want to get a coyote, but how many here have actually recovered one? Any pics?

I would not consider myself a pro. Here is a pic from a few seasons ago, can't find anything more recent.

You're one up on me. I've shot at a few, and know I killed one, but never recovered it.

Hey fivepak, glad to see your still around.
I never recovered the one I KNOW that I hit so I am not a pro.
B4rifle is probably a pro at shooting.

I have taken one coyote that I called in. I'll post a picture later. I also shot one off a dead calf we threw out into our corn field.

I just started coyote calling a couple weeks ago. The first night, a pack of 6-8 dogs snuck about 20 yards behind me and suddenly they all started yelping and howling at the same time. Scared the @#$# out of me. After a couple minutes, they all went quiet and disappeared. They just wanted to let me know they busted me.
Since then, I've been out 4 more times for them but I can't get them to come closer than about 1/2 mile. They howl in reply to my calls but you can tell it is way off. I need to find some new spots around the lakes region. I know Moultonboro and Wolfboro are both being over-run with coyotes, but I can't find anyone with land around there that will let me hunt.

First of all Welcome to the site Omega.
The coyote contest sign up were sposed to be in by Oct. 13. Now, This is what I will do since you are a new guy. If the other contest participantes (sp?) say it is ok, then I will add you to the list.
We will give it till the end of the weekend for them to respond.
I would be interested in hearing more of your story, what type of call, firearms and terrian.
As far as spots, I will show you some of mine after you take me to where you got busted by 6-8 dogs. I may be able to help you out!!!!!!!!!!!

Last year was my first time coyote hunting, thanks to the lessons received from B4Rifle, I ended up getting one. Called it in with one of those little squeaky mouse calls. I got it in a small field in the middle of the woods that floods when we get a lot of rain. The problem is, it's also my favorite deer hunting spot, got my doe this year there, and arrowed my buck. But I was there yesterday for the p.m. deer hunt when at 3pm and 4:15 two dens, one behind each end of the field (150yrds from me), started a little hootin' call & response. Then with about 5 minutes of light left, dogs entered that field, barked, howled, went nuts, and they all came in running. It's the second time I've seen it happen. The hair on the back of my neck gets whacked out, but I'm thinking of taking a rifle in there with me. Bow if deer, Rifle if Yote. Not sure if it's legal in MA or not, being armed will make me feel better. These are huge packs. 8 to 10 howling and in the distance I could hear another group. Has anyone ever had a bad experience with them when your boots may scent like doe estrus?
