Went for a little hike the other day and the first place I checked I seen a buck still carrying his antlers he was a 6pt.So I changed areas and seen a buck that had lost both of his antlers so I searched the area right around where I'd seen him but came up empty so went and had some lunch and went back to widen my search out and found this shed sticking out of the snow.
It has not been off to long.
After I pulled it out of the snow I knew it was from the 6pt that I found last year here's a couple of photos of the shed with the set from last year.
Well I went out to look for the other side when I first got to the area one of my competitors car was park there Man it didn't look good for finding it.I didn't know how long he had been there looking so I figured I'd run into him carrying it. But I lucked out and found it before he could never did see him.I didn't get the best photos it was fairly dark in the pines but here they are anyways.
And here's a few of them all together. He's got nice sticker's coming off the G2 on both antlers.
Here's a photo that actually show how much bigger the 07 sheds are from the 06.
Congrats on your latest finds!! That's awesome finding mutiple sheds off the same buck even better when you find matching sets off the same buck. We got a couple good warm days down here to help with the snow melt.We still have snow, but not much. How's your snow conditions looking up there now?
Yeah it was great to find his sheds again. We've had a little metling but the last time I was out it was just about knee deep. This evening I seen the 6pt that I seen Jan 24th outback by the cornfield and he still had both antlers. If he hangs around this year I'll be after him this fall.Right now he's about the same size as my 6pt that I took during gun season was a year ago when I first seen him.The first step though is to find his sheds.
Thanks for keeping us informed on the bucks and whether or not they have their antlers. I only have seen a few bucks this year unfortunately. Hopefully I will find some sheds once this snow melts down.
I went on a shed hunt yesterday and made it great.I only found 2 sheds a matched set,but probably the best set I'll ever find. The mainbeams are 26" & 27",g-2's and g-3's are 11' & 12". Give this deer another year to grow and he'll be bigger then Marylands state record typical.
OK big brother! Where did you find that awesome set? Blunt Rd. or in northern Potomac? Doesn't matter, it's a real nice find
Thanks for sharing and making jealous that I'm not don't there finding them myself ;D Sorry shed94 for leaving you out! You're also making me jealous with the sets you found this year. I'm gonna do a anti-shed dance for you both just to slow you down a little ;D ;D
