Yep Kids guns and hunting dont mix. Its an afull thing to introduce them to. You can really tell by the look on her face that she hates turkey hunting and really does not want to be there!!
COngrats to her on a nice bird!!

thanks for the pics. My daughters are 6 and 3. The 6yr old wants to hunt so bad. I took her out with a camera and put her in one of my stands and I walked a few runs to push to her. I was tempted to take her out at some point on a coyote hunt. I keep waivering. I'll probably wait till she's 8 or 9. I just can't wait. Neither can she. Good to see kids have the patience for hunting, especially turkey. I hope mine will too. Who needs a son when I've got a daughter that will go out with dear old dad to hunt. I couldn't be happier.

I started doing the same with my daughter. Just walks in the woods, then hanging stands and building blinds. This progessed to her actually coming with me and sitting while I hunted. Finally she took a hunter safety course when she was 10 and took her first bird. This was from the spring of 2006. I know I posted it before, but I am very proud of how she handled her self (and the shotgun) to take this bird. Have fun hunting with your daughter, it's a blast! I am now applying for a Colorado Muledeer tag for her. I will take 3 or 4 years to draw, but it will be a hunt she will never forget!

I hear ya rob.
I am so fortunate to have a wife that encourages me and a job that allowes me to hunt ALOT. Over 70 days each of the last three years. This year my oldest is going to be 7 and he want to hunt. He has been with me befrore but he wants to do it now!!!! And so does my wife. SHe has been shooting 3d with me for the past few weeks so she can get some early practice for this fall.
I would love it if I can get my wife to video my son and I while he shoots his first bird this spring. Only problem is fitting in my 5 yer old. Thats a problem I will gladly deal with.
I hope to do alot less hunting this year and more time putting new hunters and friends on game.
Good luck all
