Nice pics!! That brings back memories of summers when a couple of old timers would take me around and we would put the lead to chucks all day long. That is what got me hooked on long range shooting.

Yeah, the good old days ;D I cut my teeth on ground hog hunting on my Dads farm with a single shot 22. Use to borrow 5 or 6 shells from my Dad and hunt hogs on other farms. The farmers would give me a dollar or two per hog which would be enough for my Dad to buy me a full box of ammo. I learned to make those 5 or 6 rounds count!
I'd have to replace the ones I borrowed and target shoot with the rest. When I ran out I'd borrow more shell and do it all over again ;D
My buddy Al (pointing at my dog) had a Ruger 22-250 that was an AWESOME hog thumper! I farthest shot on a MD hog for me was 410 yards with that gun. On average with his gun we were talking 100 to 250 yards. My Marlin 22 mag was for the ones 75 yards and under.

Sometime soon ;D You don't want to head down there in the middle of summer. The grass gets to tall and their hard to find. Late Spring or Early Fall seems to be the best times. I'll talk to my brother and Dad as to when they might think would be best.

My dad has been doing as lot of wood chuck hunting and I go with him when I'm not busy. We go all over the place since we own land in a lot of different areas. Last year we got permission to hunt another farmers land, his alphapha (however you spell it) was high and all you could see were there heads. We shot three in one day and all of them had flat heads. Were you hunting them at night?
