Calling Black Bears

Has anyone ever had luck calling bears with a fawn in distress call? I have been hunting 3 years now, in the white mountains. I have seen bear in the back yard of the camp that I stay in, yet when I go into the woods, I see nothing. There's tons of signs, tracks, berry bushes with all the berries eaten off, scat, you name it, but no bears. I have gone out before the sun comes up, and also mid afternoon to sunset. I am at a loss. Any suggestions?

I have never done it, but I have been told, constant calling. I guess the bears lose interest quick if you stop too soon.

I had one come in while I was coyote hunting wailing away with a Johnny Stewart cottontail distress call.
