Hey all,
Well, as the move to NH comes closer and closer, I am starting to dream about hunting! Particularly, bear hunting. Does anyone have any advice for a newbie? I am assuming that baiting is probably the best bet for someone new. I was reading that baiting permits are available for state land. Anyone have any experience doing this?

Thanks for the tip. You have any luck setting stands or spot and stalk?

I've stalked two that I seen while deer hunting but once in range but decided where I was hunting, they were not worth the hassle to get out of the woods ;D I've seen several bears in the town I hunt & even saw one just a couple weeks ago walking down the road from where my son & I were turkey hunting the day before. They're around & if you're going to target just bears, you'll get into them. Trail cameras & baiting are the way to go for sure I'm not "a bear hunter" but I did stay at a Holiday Inn last night ;D

Here's this years bear standing maybe 15 to 20 yards off the road on a log facing away from me. The photo was taken with my cell phone.
