Any one planning on hunting bear this year? Are you intentionally hunting them or just in the course of deer hunting? Baiting? I'd love to get a bear but I know so little about it. I've seen a bear in the area this spring but no idea if any are still around.
So how does one know where to even start looking?

I bought a tag when I bought my license, so I'd like to use it. Problem is, right now we are in the middle of buying a house so I don't think I'm going to have time to bait any where. I've never hunted bear either, but my co-worker has, so I get information from him. He also has hounds, so chances are I'll run with him on a weekend and get a bear if I have time.

I think I'm in a no hound zone. But I'd be willing to travel and pay someone for their time if I could see hounds work. I'd even trade out time with my bird dog if someone is interested in Grouse or Woodcock.

I usually see a bear or two during the season in my hunting areas & know of at least one person that having trouble with them getting to close to their backyards. If I see one that doesn't thrill me, I let you know

That would be great! For some reason I got bear in my head and really want one. I think its one of those things you do once then put it away unless you get into running dogs, but yeah I'd like to shoot me one.

Ken, you can still see the road burn right about where the view looking west is. I know that anything animal hit on the road isn't good but at least it wasn't a huge 300 lb beast that any hunter would appreciate sending an arrow through. It was a pretty small one so that means mommy & daddy are still around.
