First crow with the new gun and the old caller. Was set up in the woods by the Lamprey River in Lee. I like the woods setup as the crows go crazy over the sounds out of that WT. They will come down to the ground right to the caller and make all kinds of noise. Wild. Flying in and out. I caught this one in a opening as he flew by. My 1st shot with the new gun and a hit. Hope to hookup with the guys this week and get some more. Highwaystar

what call sounds do you use mostly?
I been using Crow Juvenile Distress at full volume from the WT. Also Crow baby distress brings them down through the trees right to the caller. I have had then just feet from the WT going full volume in the woods. I put camo cloth over the caller. The crows are just going nuts looking for something, cawing as loud as then can. It is nuts.
...camo...techniques
I don't camo. I set the caller where I can get under some hemlock trees and the caller in some kind of open space. Make a few swings to check where I can shoot, open spots between trees. When they come in they are frantic. I try to move slow and give it to them. It's cool because their right in your face. Its a fun way to hunt them. I'll follow snowmoblie trails and make stands on the way. The WT will bring them in from a long way. I can set up and not hear a crow. Let the caller go and within a few minutes they are there. It is wild how far that caller will reach and bring them in.

I sit in the woods sometimes n blast the call loud and as soon as I hear crows I shut it off and sometimes they will land right over you looking for the sound then I let em have it...when I do that I turn the Polychoke to Xtrafull.
