I was interested in how many guys do overnight or multi night hunts? I know day trips are generally the norm, but up here in Alaska, you need to usually put on some miles to get into decent hunting/calling areas. I'll travel 100 miles on snowmachine and stay a couple nights in a cabin and go out from there to call. I haven't done it yet, but am planning to do some spring hunts where I'll take tent and gear to hunt from. I'll tow all my gear in a 12 ft. long sled and just make a basecamp and hunt out of there. During the springtime up here, we'll get around 14 to 15 hours of light, so there's plenty of day and good temperatures to hunt.

Critterstalker, I've done overnight hunts for predators a number of times over the years. This winter I've done one hunt that lasted for 2 1/2 days calling cougar and wolf, but I stayed with a friend who lived near the hunt area. It is a half day drive from where I live. I hope to do an overnight and two days for cougar next week, and will sleep in my 4x4 if my work schedule permits the trip. Wish I had your snow machine for that hunt, as I suspect the snow will not permit driving the back roads I want to cruise for lion tracks.
Years ago I did a couple of backpack trips for predators.
Your hunt sounds terrific, with a snow machine and cabin for a base. Let us know how your tent trip turns out.
