I wanted to go out this morning early but we had company most of the weekend. I got out about 3:00 p.m. this afternoon. I hiked in about 1/2 mile and called for 20 minutes in a spot where I got an answer to my howls last winter. Plenty of tracks but no coyote. I move about another 1/2 mile and tried again where I have seen Yotes before. Called until dark. No luck. I used my homemade E-caller. It's set up as a remote with a Nady 351. 1st time I used it that way. I got it set up out to 100 yard with no problem. I started out with a couple of lonesome howls and then went to some snowshoe hair distress sounds. No luck on the second set-up either, but it was nice to be in the woods again.

Oops, sorry, my Nady is a DKW-1, not a 351. Only drawback to my is that the receiver works on 12 vdc instead of 9vdc like the transmitter. solved that problem with a 12 vdc cordless drill battery.
