I finally got out fishing with Scout on Saturday and we had a blast!! The big pond was clam, sky was blue, temperature was just right and I was with good company on a very nice boat. I couldn’t have asked for anything else other than maybe two 50/50 for each of us. In case anybody doesn’t know what a 50/50 is, it’s a 50” striper, weighing in at 50lbs ;D We had two schools non aggressive blues and stripers early in the day that just keep feeding all around us. They would swim towards the boat and go down only to re-appear making another run towards the boat. It was fun seeing these fish acting like that and even more fun trying to get them to hit but they just weren’t interested. We then headed towards the river to try another spot when the fun really kicked it up a notch. Scout saw some boat action and knew something was going on so he took the boat out and parked us right in the action! The blues were in a feeding frenzy and I didn’t waste anytime getting my hook in the water ;D I’ll let Scout post the rest! All I know is that he got me my first blue and I loved every second of it. He is a photo of my second fish and Scouts fish. Thanks for taking me out on your boat Scout I had an awesome time and can’t wait until we can get out there again.

The truth behind the fishing trip is this. Mk and I headed into the mighty Atlantic to try and hook up to some big striper's. I brought him to one of my favorite spots right off the get go. This is a spot I do real well at, and have caught many decent striper's there. It didn't take long before we saw fish feeding heavily on bait fish. It was a mix of striper's and blues chasing the smaller fish right to the surface. MK hooked up with one and got it to the boat, but it made another run and bit the line clean before we could land it. After a few more tries for striper's we decided to try other spots. I saw a few boats about two miles out and just had to see what was up. When we got there the blues were in a feeding frenzy and MK hook up on the first cast. We change to wire leaders and rapelas and started casting into the school. MK hooked on to another and then I hooked up to one and lost it. We followed the school around for a while and I finally caught one. Get this I had the better lure and still got out fished. Not only that but in the bottom picture I was trying to stop the fish from kicking around so I could remove the hook and the lure got caught in my jeans. I had to cut my pants to prevent any hooks from actually getting into my leg. I was feverishly working to try and catch another so MK wouldn't have bragging rights and hooked up to one, but my knot tying let me down and I lost my good lure and the fish. We had a great time and I was real glad MK was able to join me. I still think he had one of those Tookey River blue fish calls on him, ;D but he will not own up to it. MK, hope we can do this again before I pack the boat up for the season. Maybe next time we can bring the wives out. Rumor has it that your wife can out fish you ;D ;D ;D ;D

Man, I forgot all about the one I hooked up with in that first spot ;D See, all the fun we had with the other blues stole the show for me. Just so you know scout, I started working on a new blue diaphragm call. I'll been test the sound on it in Jacobs swimming pool. Not sure how it sounds actually underwater so next time out on your boat, you're going overboard with one and we'll see if it works ;D ;D

Any chance you can get that proto type to me before this weekend. I have someone that I think would be a better candidate for that type of testing ;D ;D

Scout- If you are referring to me, wrong. Remember you are much older and much more frail so YOU may be going overboard. Secong thought I can't trailer the boat. I will take over Tom's role and outfish the heck out of you though!!!! Plus with our luck it will be choppy and I will be chumming the waters for you all day. Supposed to be cool both days. Looks like an awesome weekend for hanging stands and doing a little fishing.
