I'm a Remington guy! I own two, 870 and a 1187 both are set up for turkey thumping. I also own a 10ga New England Arms single shot that I keep around for home protection. Bought it for turkey but decided it would be better at home intruder thumping ;D
I'd like to buy a Ruger red label 20 ga but coming up with that kind of money is out of the question for now. I believe my next shotgun I buy will be for my son and it will probably be a T/C G2. Start him out on a single shot with the option of changing barrels for different calibers.

I chose Browning because if I need to use a shotgun for anything I use my Old Browning A-5.

You did not put up Berreta!!!
I like the Italian guns. I have one for hunting and sporting clays, one for trap and one for skeet. If you go with a name brand shotgun you can not buy a bad one nowadays. They are all good for hunting and will last a life time.
Competition gun you need be a little more carfull because some of the guns people buy for hunting, browning gold hunter, any of the the walmart guns, and rugers just are not built to stand up to 100k rounds a year.
I like Beretta becuase of how the gun feels in my hands. That is the most important thing when getting a gun is to buy one that feels good, you can always have it fitted.
I do think Bennelli is the best made shotgun out there.

Oops! I was thinking of the Berreta, but not seeing it up there thought it was the Benelli. O well, I have heard quite a bit about the Benelli so it would have been my second. I own a Mossbergh and love it, but I like the Berettas I've seen better.

I love my Remington 870. I put a ported turkey choke tube in it and a fiber optic peep sight. I just bought my daughter an 870 20ga Youth.

I have a Winchester Short 1300. It is a shoulder thumper but I like the small size. Some day I would like a Franchi camo over and under, if they still make it.

The Benelli is a very nice gun, and with the new Super Black Eagle II, and the Super Nova having 40 plus percent recoil reduction, gets my vote. Turkey loads sure do have some punch. I know MK- M-GBL Needs a new Benelli.

OK, my 1187 set for turkey hunting (21" barrel, TruGlo recoil pad, Kicks turkey tube and TruGlo fiber optic ghost ring sight) $550. That leaves with how many Sundays of working in your shop at $25 an hour? ;D
