Anyone had any experience with calling in humans to an animal distress call? I've been out a few time calling since my bear encounter and we have called in 3 humans since. The last time I was out with my step son. We were in this field that was 1/8 to 1/4 mile in the woods away from houses. We set the WT caller up in the field pointed away from humans and got a few coyote howling sounds going followed by a rabbit that sounds like you are stepping on its feet. We were calling for about 15 - 20 minutes and I look over in the corner of the field and saw what looked like a person. Pretty soon this lady comes creeping out into the field looking like Elmer Fudd the way she was creeping along and had this BIG dog with her for protection. Well the mischievous side of me couldn't help but put in a few more pathetic sounds to see just how a human would react to something like that. Humans trying to figure out what is causing that kind noise is as fun as calling any animal in. When she got real close to the speaker we came out of our hiding spot to say hi. She was a nice lady that was trying to rescue the poor dying thing from the bunch of coyotes that had been tearing it apart for the last 20 minutes. It was a funny conversation to say the least.
Last night I went out again and called a large bobcat. He looked real nice in the scope and it was fun to toy with him as well. I tried to get my camera out of the bag but by the time I did he figured out something wasn't right and left. It was cool as it was the first one I've called in and I am kinda glad they are protected here as they are fun to watch and are a beautiful animal.
