Just out of curiosity, as I've never hunted them myself, what do you guys do with them after you taken one of them out? Do you skin them? Is there a good market for the hides? I have a co-op working at my company that has hunted them in Vermont and he said he just left it where it died. I myself am all for taking them out as they are a problem for deer and domestic animals alike. I need to find a local farmer that would love to have me come in and rid his property of a few. From what I've heard, they sound like a good challenge to hunt.

a good challenge to hunt is an under statement!!!!!! Alot of guys just leave them lay, but in the winter when the coats are nice and thick some guys skin them or have them stuffed. as far as a fur market, there are some places that will buy them but I don't think there is really a "market" to speak of around here, fur from "cats" is were the $ is!!!

We normally take them home, get pics, chuck them on an edge of our fields. We know a trapper who traps on some of our property. The one I got earlier this year he offered $15 for it. However, it had a real nice thick coat and since I shot it while it was looking at me the entrance hole was about the size of a dime with no exit. It was frozen to the ground and was gross by the time it thawed enough to take off so it is on the edge of one of our fields. Seems like a nice guy though.
