I'm in Barrington. The old TC Encore needs to rock the still night. I'm game!!! But, were these permits are can we use centerfire rifles? Been in Maine to long all these rules!!! Baiting laws night laws. Whats an outlaw to do. LOL. Never hit a coyote with a shotgun. Let us know so we know how to pack. browing204 we can flip a coin to see who brings the caller. LOL.
brodeur272 do you have a elec. caller?

as far as night hunting, it can ONLY be done with rimfire or shot gun anywhere in the state! I have a scope mounted light on my .17hmr for coons. It is the 100 yard spotlight, it does ok.
oh, I think muzzle loader is ok to use also.

Can I come out and play? Browning, I just doubled checked the hunting digest (pg 19) and the email I got from Lt. Bruce Bonenfant of NH F&G. I believe that when night hunting you have to follow the towns rules for big game hunting. By that I mean if you are in a shotgun town than you cant use a highpowered rifle at night (day time is ok). IF you are in a rifle town than it is ok. Highwaystar, I used to belong to the Major waldrons for many year. Used to shoot a 7-30 waters at the 300m berm all the time. used to have a rem 700 police in 308 and a winchester model 70 custom shop in 22-250. That was one hell of a shooting rifle. I shot a coyote in the back field of the farm next door to the club once. I ranged it at just over 400 yards. I am going to join again in the next month or two.

regnar is correct on the type of rifle packed. anything south of you is rimfire and north is centerfire. i have a foxpro 416 with remote and a niteforce lite so i think we have hardware covered. do you guys have nite permits? i don't have any baiting permits.

I don't have any night permits. Can we hunt as a group on your permit? And, does the guy with the permit do the shooting. I just want to go hunting! As we talk permits what about WMA. Who's Written landowner permission do we seek there. Well, what ever it takes lets go hunting. I will drive or run the light long as I am out there.

you can use highpower rifle any where in the state during the day for coyote.
During the night, you cannot use high power rifles within towns with special firearms rules.
is that what you just said???
I reread the book, your right!

The way the permits are written, I believe it's one per hunter. As far as WMAs go, just go to/send in a request to NH Fish and Game in the respective District and they usually sign them and send them back to you. Check with the Durham F&G office. I am thinking maybe this weekend or possibly tomorrow afternoon, just after sunset to do some. Hoping to get the 243 sighted in by then. Hywaystar and Browning, drop me a line when you are up for some and we'll see how the schedule goes...

Hoping to get the 243 sighted in!
So this means you are not in a shotgun only town? Was thinking maybe to get a few day light hours in. Night hunting I'll run the light for ya! The way I see it to night hunt I would need landowner permission. Next week it is going to get colder this weekend 50 deg. Have plans this weekend, but after that open. How far are you from Barrington? If you are close maybe some week night. I home at 4:00. Could hit the road by 5:00. I'm going to work on getting land permission here. I want to do some call locating and fine some sweet spots. There is a large piece of town land near my house, I'll see about a permit for there, we could hunt there all night. Good stretch of power lines too. I'm going to see about adding fellow hunter to a permit like the moose hunt permit sub-permittee, who Knows!!!
