Was just wondering what kind of season everyone has been/are having this year. I haven't had any luck at the baits, the few we have taken have all been by calls.

I didn't do as much baiting as I wanted to. All coyotes were called in. I couldn't hunt much this year next year I hope to hit them hard.

Had a good run at it !!! This was my first year to hunt coyotes with the new WT caller. I did get out more and found new spots, Thanks to nice landowners and found a great hunting partner, Thanks to this Fourm I was glad to get back into night hunting. The permit thing!!! Well what can you do. I'll start early next year. Baiting was slow as I am still learning the area. I did get hits but the time they were there and the warm weather made it hard to get it all togeather. Trail camera and timer is in my future. ;D Saw 5 Coyotes, 2 Red fox, and one Red fox on a night hunt. We did get 1 nice male coyote. Next year will be a lot better as I learn the area and my caller and will do more night locating. I think that is the KEY I need to unlock the door to better stands and seeing more coyotes. We hunt coyotes in the winetr with dogs. This winter was tough with all the crust early on then the deep snow the rest of the winter but we did manage to get 14 yotes all from 2 baits in a 1 square mile range. We usually get between 25-30 in a normal winter. The calling in technique I am just starting to learn has been fruitless so far!

The calling can be hard at times, are you calling the same areas that you hunt with dogs??
