Tom if you hunt at Dads this coming season you might want to keep an eye out for a screwed up 9pt. ;D
Stacy and I were out at Dads messing around a few weeks back and found a nice 4pt. side with a forked g-2.It was laying in the first hedgerow straight behind where the canoe is at.It looked like the buck just jumped the fence heading out in the fields when he dropped that first antler.
No ATL pics,we weren't even thinking about sheds when we found it.
When we found that first antler there was patchy snow in the fields still with the grown up field below and the thicket with more snow. After the snow melted we checked the whole area out better and across the road in Roger's woods. We let the cut corn fields go waiting for them to dry up some.I told Stacy we'd hop on Rob's 4 wheeler and ride up and down the rows with him watching one side and myself the other side.
Yesterday Stacy had off school for Easter and wanted to go out to Dad's and fish.I said fine then after fishing we'd check for that other side.
We caught a dozen crappie all around 9-10" then hopped on the 4 wheeler.First we checked the field in front of the oak tree stand. We made 4 passes covering the whole field in no time.Next we checked the finger stand section, nothing.
In that last field we made a pass down and back and were about half way on another pass when Stacy started pointing and saying something.I didn't know what was up so I stopped,he was telling me to watch out for the ground holg hole right in front of us.When I looked up again to start going, the missing shed we were looking for was laying just the other side of the ground hog hole.
Here's both sides together. This second half we found the g-2 didn't fork like the first half and there's only a big bump for a browtine.
Is that Awesome or what!!
