A bunch of @&^#^&* idiots that don't belong trying to run the Dept. of F&G Has anyone seen the new legislation they are proposing? If not here it is. If any of this crap goes through! I'll be paying more for my resident hunting and fishing license than what I pay for now in VT, PA, WV and maybe even my MD for their NON-RESIDENT hunting licenses. THAT'S A #@(% JOKE!!! It would be a safe bet we should all be attempting to attend these hearings! If not, pretty soon F&G will be want to charge us to photograph deer or turkeys! Or maybe make us pay rent to put your bob house out on a frozen lake! A permit for trail cameras! A permit to breath air in the woods! Hell, why they're at it they should go ahead and make a permit fee for anyone thinking about hunting or fishing. How can they (NH F&G) get away with this stuff? We're paying the price for their lack of money management and management skill in general and I'm sick of it! They're all a bunch of crooks

F&G is in SERIOUS financial trouble. They take no money from the general tax fund or from the state, they have to find a way to generate several million dollars on an annual basis, or they have to cut services. They have expanded what they do over the last years to things that cost signifigant money (hiking, search/rescue etc) yet they take in no money to pay for these things.
I didn't see much in that list that would cause issue, they know they cannot raise license fees again, people will just stop hunting/fishing, so this will actually have a negative effect.
My bigger concern is that if they get money from the state, that they then will have to put in elected officials into F&G. that would be much worse.

They've been in trouble for a while now! They also have been crying about how they're loosing more and more non-resident hunters over the last few years and that they need to get peoples interest back into NH. Well, what they're doing isn't going to make people rush in line for a non-resident license. I can't begin to tell what they should do! other than FIRE the current F&G staff (ALL OF THEM) and start with a new staff that are smarter. I also know that I'll be buying my license a little different this year. NO bear permit ($16) Don't care to shot another one NO pheasant permit ($16) stocking program is a joke NO extra archery permit ($16) One is good enough to get me out there. I'd rather bow hunt & spend my money for bow hunting in MD. a TON more deer and bigger trophies NO donation ($8) They couldn't mange the donations I've been making for the last 8 years so why bother That should save me $54 I'm also going to be buying my permits as I need them instead of buying them all at once come Jan 1st. I need money just as much as F&G does so I'll hold on to my money and make interest until I have to purchase my permits a few days before I need them. Sorry guys but F&G is NOT one of my favorite subjects! My opinion of our F&G is in my first post.......they're all a bunch of crooks

You may not like what I have to say but I'm glad there going up we need something to stop so many non - res coming up here and shooting all the doe's I no some of you have great spots and see allot doe's but the rest of the state is way down on deer numbers compared to other new england states . Doe lottery would have help. But F/G let the hunters vote on it and that got shot down . To bad it would generate money and would have controlled the doe herd better
But thats just my opion

I don't really have a problem with the cost going up. I buy four non-residents licenses a year and travel a lot to use them so adding 10 more dollars to my turkey stamp is nothing. Problem is, I don't see where my money for a license is going! NH hunting compared to other NE state (like you mentioned) and in the states in which I hunt in, sucks! F&G wants mo' money and mo' money but fail time and time again to show what the mo' money is doing.
You looks at the current Hawk-eye and there's a lot of nice bucks taken this year. Was that because of spending or improvements by F&G? No! That because hunters numbers are down and of the mild winter that Mother Nature gave us the last two winters.

Part of the problem with rule changes is the combination of the F&G and the F&G commission. I believe that the commission is the one that makes changes like the doe lottery, these are politicians, not biologists.
From what I have read, most of the license increases/additions are to try and get fees from folks who don't give now, non-powered boats for example. They need to find a way to tap into new revenue, not up existing streams. They need to much more money to get it via current revenue stream increases. Increased license fees will, at this point, chase away folks who are currently coming which will offset the increased fees and probably result in zero-gain or even a loss. While not reducing the job they need to do.
Just make sure when you get tags as needed that you don't box yourself out, some, such as the bonus archery tag, need to be bought by a certain date. When they added the bonus archery tag you had to buy in by Sept 15. You couldn't buy it after that, great financial move cause most who bought it never use it, yet if you want to have the chance to keep hunting IF you get an archery deer, you had to put up the money before you knew if you needed it. Most never used it.
