I don't know about N.H., but I had put in every year here in Maine and last year was the first time I ever got picked. I have been lucky enough to go on four hunts though.

I shot mine in 2004 it was a small bull, about 650lbs. Luckily we have gotten all but one out using chains, cables and ropes. The largest one we took, completely field dressed at 1120lbs., and that was weighed with a registered set of scales.

I just keep putting in for points as I don't have much time for a moose hunt.Hopefully if I build up enough points when I find the time and actually apply for the tag I'll draw.

I have also been trying to get a permit for quite a while, nuthin yet. My grandfather got one in Maine a few years ago, but nothing since. My father is a surveyor, he found a jacked moose yesterday in the Farmington area, hope the scumbags get caught, but I doubt it.

If you're a smart moose hunter...you park off the side of a logging road anywhere in Aroostook county and call the moose down to the road before you shoot him. Makes life so much easier. My father has been trying to get nusance permits from F&G because of all the damage they do to his fence lines, no luck so far, but the warden keeps coming up and giving him rock salt loads for the twelve guage (which do nothing except scare the cows) They took two out of the pasture nearest the barn last year, one dressed out 850 and the second, 985lb. Dad said it was easier than shooting one of the cows, you wait around in the barn talking tractors until a moose wanders through the fence, shoot him, and go pick him up with the back hoe. Deer are considerate, they jump the fences. Moose...they just plow on through. You'd like to think they would have the common courtesy to go out the same hole they made coming in, but noooo, got to make another one on the way out. If I do get one with a bow this fall, I'm just going to call Regnar and tell him to come get it!

The closest thing that I will get to Moose hunting is sitting on my couch with the dog and watching Wildlife Tech's Moose tutorial! Which is very informative by the way, and the moose in the video are H-U-G-E!!!!
