Thanks for the advice firepirate. I have tomorrow off from soccer so I should have some time to get out. I will probably get an owl decoy soon and hopefully that will bring them down a little.
Crows do hate owls, same thing with hawks. I was told why once, but forget. Might have been something to do with the owls going after their nests.

I don't know why they hate owls, but I have seen them harass the heck outta hawks. That is one reason I started hunting them. I got tired of watching crows gang up on a hawk. I suppose a hawk decoy would work but I don't know where to find one. I actually got the owl tip from a crowhunting site. They said to put the owl on a pole and hang a dead crow underneath like the owl killed it. I just sat the owl on the ground and put my 1st crow of the day at its feet. I placed a bunch of crow dekes around kinda like they were getting ready to throw down and turned on the call. The crows hung around much longer with this set up and some even circled back around multiple times after I shot. First time I had ever seen that. Usually they are gone after the first bird drops. Hope this helps you out. Give it a try and see if it works for ya

I got out today for one setup. nailed one at about 10 yards! Poor old crow didn't know what hit him. He was dead as soon as I pulled the trigger. LOVE THAT!! Had a bunch come to the call but just that one in range.

went out after work today, parked in a dip in a cornfield, went about 50 yards, put n owl and a crow decoy out in the field, owl on the ground, crow decoy on its side in front of the owl, put my camo backpack down on ground, laid new fx3 on top of it, hid behind a tree, blasted the crow fight sound, they cam bombing in, i got 4 with my stoeger m2000, low brass 7 1/2 modified choke, nailed one about 15-20 feet away, pretty wild there for a few seconds....the last one as pretty high up but didnt wanna leave i shot twice, mised, LONGGGGGGGGGGGG 3rd shot dropped him into the field, love crow hunting!!!

I am going to go out later today. Our season in New York does not close until March 31. I bought an owl decoy earlier this week and am looking forward to giving it a try.

its a blast, no pun intended, i usually lay a crow decoy at the feet of the owl so it looks like the wol has the crow, gets em riled up good.
