Finally made another trip down to elk country wasn't the best day for photos the weather was overcast. Here's two nice bulls together. This guy was with a bunch of cows and calves. This shot I couldn't pass up. And here's a couple of spikes. Here's 66 I seen him for the first time last fall.

Thanks MK
Yeah there bringing the elk back in a few states.Of course it won't be NY state anytime soon.I sent an e-mail and asked the DEC if they have any plans to bring the elk back to NY and this is the e-mail I recieved back.
Thank you for your question regarding elk in New York. Several years ago, the DEC cooperated with several universities in conducting a feasibility study of reintroducing elk in New York. Biological, ecological, and social factors were considered and several sites were identified in the Catskills with greatest potential for successful elk reintroduction. However, the DEC has not taken any action toward reintroducing elk due to concerns about the potential introduction and spread of Chronic Wasting Disease (CWD) in New York. Locating an donor elk herd that is free of CWD is difficult and the disease issue continues to be a concern for the state, no less so now that CWD has been detecting in wild deer in central NY. We will continue to work with advocacy groups on this issue, but at present, the DEC has no plans to pursue elk reintroduction in NY.
Sincerely, Jeremy Hurst
