Who here does it and what do you carry? I've got a Ruger .454 Casull but have yet to take anything with it. Hopefuly I'll get the chance next season. Thinking of putting a Bushnell Holo sight on her

I've never tried it but have thought about it. It might be a good way to go for those thick areas where a rifle or shotgun is just to bulky to get through.

I would like to find a nice carry gun. I just don't know what to buy. I looked at a glock but found them to bulky to carry. I also looked at a Browning .38 and found it about the right size but to small of a caliber.

What do you plan on carrying it for? protection or hunting? If for hunting you might want to look into a revolver seeing autos have restriction. I bought a Beretta 9mm for myself a few years ago and my wife fell in love with it. She now claims it as hers! It's very accurate but a little hard to try and conceal it. I ended up buying the Glock 27 which is a compact 40 S&W and it would hold 9 rounds. I traded it in because I could hit anything unless it was 6 feet away. If I had to use in self-defense I'd like to make those 9 shots count.

I sometimes go out with just my Glock G29 10mm. In the winter it's also my carry gun. I thought a Glock would be too bulky for everyday carry too, but it's not that bad. I carry it in a Don Hume belt IWB holster. Don Hume makes some decent leather holster, but not as pricey as some manufacturers. In the summer with the lighter clothing I carry a Kahr K9 in another Don Hume holster.

SCOUT: I carry a springfield armory XD-9 compact with a don hume leather paddle holster. I found that the pistol carrys well and hides well. I have even ran with it on and it did not budge. the pistol cost me $525 with the weapon light and it shoots well.. just some food for thought......

I have a glock 27. It is tough to shoot and hold onto the little bugger. Put on some grip tape and a 3.5 pound trigger. Now you can't miss with it. Carry it in a DeSantis holster, rides high and tight to the body. Best carry gun I have owned.

I never hunt with a gun. I bow hunt with a longbow. Nothing against it, just not my thing. But I do carry, especially when hunting. I use to carry a Taurus 44 mag, but now I carry a Desert Baby Eagle .45. I love this "little" gun. Very accurate and it's small enough in a large caliber to "forget" that I'm wearing it. The grip feels like it was made for me. Never have had to use it, but it's there. Steve

This is my hunting pistol, I haven't gotten anything with it yet, but I shot it for a few seasons in IMHSA. Sure knocked the crap out of steel plates at 200 meters. As far as a carry pistol goes, this Browning is generally always on my hip. Or otherwise close by,

Carbon, what caliber is that browning? I'm looking for something to carry while bowhunting as a backup weapon.

That's a 9mm Browning Dual Mode. It's either straight double action or traditional single action at the turn of a switch. I carry it with the safety off, in double action mode. The main reason I carry that particular pistol is because it's a nice thin piece. At 150 pounds it's hard for me to conceal a full size auto, with it's thin profile I can carry it very comfortably in the pants. High cap mags are very hard to find and wicked expensive if you do find them. I've had it for a long time, so I got the mags while they were still making them. After the mag ban of 98 they stopped making the high caps, shortly after that they discontinued the pistol itself. If you can find one used, I'd buy it. It's a very reliable, and accurate.
