With today's beautiful weather, and two deer in the freezer, it was time to skip bow hunting and take the bird dog out for a run. I cant believe how warm it was out. It was a nice day to be walking the woods. We only moved one bird, a grouse which just as I noticed Roux getting birdy the bird flushed before she could point it and way before I could even take the safety off. Other than that, it was a nice walk...I saw a few areas that I may try to bow hunt early next year if the sign I saw today is occurring late August/ early September next year. On the way back to the truck I noticed this little guy hiding out...he's just starting to grow his white winter coat. A beagle would be fun down in there.

Thats awesome Mike, looking to get Neely going pretty soon. Had his manhood out last week so I got another week of keeping him low key...really need to work on basic obedience. Would like to hook up soon so you can give me some pointers on training. HANK

Hi Hank...while he heals up is the perfect time to work on his Whoa command. It just requires him to stand there so no strenuous activity on his end. Getting him to know whoa so we can show him some birds.
