Just wondering if anybody uses or has used a Zippo hand warmer while deer hunting. I've had it with those throw-away bean bag ones. They just don't cut it. Seems like they always kick into high gear about the time I'm headed for home. My biggest concern with the Zippo is the odor that the lighter fluid may give off. Any thoughts?

I haven't had the need yet, but I wonder if my Thermocell wouldn't be a good handwarmer.....
Without the blue insecticide strip I think it would be scentless....Yes/No..??

I’ve used the red velvet holder (metal lined with fiberglass) that you add a lighted fuel stick too since I was old enough to hunt with my Dad. At the time it never bothered me but now the odder it puts off is crazy bad. I have one plus the one I use to carry when I was 12 years old hunting in PA. Check out this stuff Willy The owner of Heritage Hunters site did a quick review on this stuff which I’ll add below along with the link to the Gerbing. It cost $$ but I think it would be worth ever cent if it keeps you warm and thawed out I’m was thinking of getting the hand warmer to try this winter fishing but it does seem like winter is going to so up Once you experience Gerbing’s line of Heated clothing, you’ll realize why you never again have to be concerned with the question “How cold is it going to get?” Gerbing’s heated vest is an absolute must have piece of equipment for the avid hunter and ice fisherman. Not only does the vest give you the ability to wear less layers, it gives you the ability to have “heat” at your command with the small rechargeable battery packs that fit neatly in the vest pockets. It’s pretty simple really. You wear the vest (which is pretty warm in it’s own right) to your stand and sit until you start feeling that unforgettable chill that hunters experience. With a simple push of a button on the battery, you can heat up the inner-workings of the vest to the level of your choice (100%, 75%, 50% or 25%). When you get home, you plug in the battery to a charger (included with the vest) and recharge for the next hunt. We also will be trying the heated sock version of the Gerbing System later this Fall/Winter so stay tuned to see how we like those!

WOW..... thats some real nice heated clothing That vest liner would be worth its weight in gold on those frigid mornings in the stand!!! I love the sock liners too but 200 bucks is a little much for socks!!!

For the money and convience, it's hard to beat the chinsy individual hand/foot warmers for the hunting pack This year I openned up a three year old package of hand warmers and never got them put in my mittens and ........Out comes a deer, Oh my........KABOOOOOOOOOM........ Didn't need them after that, too bad to waste them....

My son gave me a BJ box of them last year. Throw a couple in the hand warmer or hoodie pocket and I was good to go. They keep my spikes in my bait puck nice and active
