I put out this camera last Sunday & wasn't going to check it for another week but couldn't resist checking it today. Jake & I saw a bunch of turkeys (3 red heads for sure) about 15 yard to the right of my camera as we went in. I didn't get any of them on the camera but I did get several does, a very small 4 pointer (6 if he's got brow tines) and this so so 8 pointer. I doubt I'd draw back on the eight unless Jake is with me in the stand or I’ve got great video footage of him & the shot. He's all excited about the 8 pointer & wants me to shoot him. Not a bad start I can see by the times I got of these deer & direction they were heading, I've got to make this area a morning hunt. I'll got to come in from the back side while two knucklehead hunting this farm pushes them under my stand Hunt the hunter has worked many many many times before

These were from another stand location taken a few weeks ago. I believe the tall spike I saw the other night shining was this guy.

A week ago when Jake & I were swapping cards, there was two guys on the farm my camera is set up on. They were setting out several stands about 300 yards from my trail camera on the main run. Problem is these knuckleheads set their crap up right in or awfully close to their bedding area I think the proof they spooked the deer is on my card I just pulled Saturday. I think they spooked off the does & that small 8 from using the main run because I have not seen them on my camera. I know from spot lighting the deer are still coming out to feed but not on that main trail. I figured they are now going around the knuckleheads stand set ups by the direction the spike & few does I got were heading. So I pulled the camera & decided that if I plan on hunting these deer, I’ll just come in from the back side of the property. It’s a lot lot longer walk in but if you want to hunt this property right, it’s what one must do. I've just got to decide if that 8 pointer is worth the trip in Anyways, here’s a spike & a bear I got on the trail camera. They are heading right on the path I use to get in & out of the woods to check the camera

Pulled my card this morning & had nothing but red squirrels, grey squirrels and crows! On my way into the camera set I came across so bear tracks leading to a wild apple tree & a pile a crap. I didn’t have my cell on me so I had to use my trail camera to take these photos for you ecgreen. So sorry about not being very clear. The tracks were about the size or a little bigger than the palm of my hand. After seeing evidence of bear less than 60 yards from my camera set, I really thought I’d have photos of him. Off to move the camera to another hopefully better location

Hey thanks for thinking of me when you see crap! LOL! Seriously though, I now know what to look for, thanks! Not a lot of bears where I am from, so I am getting an education fast.

After a good round of golf & a nap this afternoon, I decided to pull trail camera cards. Just like most of this preseason, I didn’t get much but there was action. I left the first photo in there just to show that you don’t need to be all scent free around deer like some think. You can’t tell in the photo but I’m wearing my sneakers setting this camera & look what came in several hours later. On my other camera I got this. Not sure what’s in the 4th or 5th photo. Could it be maybe a bobcat The images are not the best but it looks to me like what ever it is, it doesn’t have a tail.

Nothing ec, I'm just putting my cameras on runways/trails or stonewall opening in areas I believe are travel routes from bedding to feeding. In the deer series of photos, I set the MKMGOBL3 right on a cut through between two fields in a hedgerow that's has several mature white oaks in it. I put the camera on what looked to be the heavest used cut through & there they are. That first deer came through right where I just walked 5 hours earlier about 4 times trying to get the camera set right. Because of the bush & tight runway, I had to set it up a lot higher than I normally do. The MKMGOBL2 camera was set pretty deep in the woods on trail coming through the stonewall into some serious oaks surrounding an small overgrown field. The bear actually didn't come where I thought any thing would & is heading away from a huge food sourse. There must be good nut crop falling deep in this chunk of woods

Well I pulled two cards today with a little variety of critters. The MKMGOBL3 camera didn’t capture much but I did get a coyote pup (I think according to the time), mama coyote and two does. MKMGOBL2 caught a fat raccoon, a buck, & three does. The buck looks to be very boarder line for me but if I see him while in the stand, he could look better than in the b/w photo. His body size or lack of leads me to think he’s a young buck.

It's a good thing we're trying to save all the does & kill any with bone on it's head Really, it's not like we really need bucks to mate with all the does the state lacks right
