I'm looking to get the 5X10 or 6X10 utility trail in the next couple of days from Tractor Supply. Does anyone already own a Carry-On trailer? I bought a Snow Bear (Ithink ) from Home Depot about 10 years ago & it's the noisest trailer I've ever had plus a total rust bucket I need something with sides & drop down gate so I'm up grading in order to haul my toys around.

Well I got some great advice from a member on another forum that turned out to be deal changer for me. I was told about the Big Tex trailers at The Trailer Outlet in Tilton. So this morning I drove up to check them out. Man, am I glad I did because I would be hating life afterwards Those Big Tex trailers don't even compare to the Carry-On trailers! The Big Tex 77"X10' is built better 6" wider trailer* for starters, better removable gate*, better locking system on gate*, lift handles on gate, enclosed lights & wiring*, tie down hooks inside the trailer unit, spare tire mount* and best of all...$104 cheaper* than the Tractor Supply 6'X10'. Now I’ll have plenty of room come December for my wheeler, portable shelter or for hauling out the hard side bob house For my turkey trips, there will be plenty of room to load up the wheeler & coolers keeping the bed of my truck open for gear. No more stacking gear so high in the back seat that it blocks my rearview mirror view. I only things I see could be a down side of the Big Tex is that it seems to sit low & the floor is pine not PT lumber It’s not a big deal though as long as the trailer is built better I'm happy; I can always replace the deck down the road if it ever needs it

Tom, we had a trailer at the last job I had before we moved out here that started off with an un-treated deck, it was a 6x14' tandem. We used it to haul a bunch of stuff over the years, probably the hardest on it was the mulch and dirt due to the moisture sitting in direct contact with the wood. I think the original deck lasted 5-6 years before it had to be replaced. I would hope you should get at least that amount of life out of yours- on average, lumber these days isn't nearly as good as it was 10 years ago when that old tandem was made.

I don't remember the maker, but it wasn't a Big Tex.
Trailers like that tend to be from a regional maker, and that job was in Indiana....

Tom, Did you look at any Aluminum models? They are more expensive, but there is no rust issue and they are usually much lighter to move and pull. A buddy of mine just bought one for his Polaris Ranger and loves it.

Yes I did Jim. I looked at the Load Rite & Aluma trailers. Load rite not big enough & Aluma cost $$$ The Big Tex is sitting in my driveway right now. I went up yesterday afternoon & bought it

MK, just saw this post I was up there Thursday last week and I'm going back this week to purchase the same trailer. I will be able to load my freezer, bait barrels, ATV, all on the trailer to get all of it to the bait sites. I would have posted about them had I seen this post before. Phesnt has one and he loves it.
