Hey everyone! I just got into crow hunting. I am usually an upland bird and squirrel hunter. But I have been bored and did some research on-line and found out about this spring crow season. Went out and bought a shotgun, an e-call, some mouth calls, a few decoys, and started talking to some local farmers. Today was my second hunt and I have to say I am hooked!!! I was able to get three and had lots more come in but they were all very high. One I had to shoot again after I knocked him down. I thought he was dead, out in the decoys and about 35 min later he flies off! I am just glad I was facing the right way or he would have been outta range and gone. These are some tough birds. I think I am going to go pick up some turkey loads for my next hunt.

Nice. It is so much fun. I'll be going this weekend with 3 friends. I have a WT called as do 2 of my friends, we get them going. This year will try my mojo as a decoy. Worked great when I was calling coyotes. They would just sit in the trees going nuts at the mojo and the caller. Nice photo too! Highwaystar

I have knocked them down with 8s but the 6s with a mod or full choke seem to hit them alot harder!!!!

I use 7 1/2 almost all the time..usually with a modified choke...but last year I left my turkey choke in for the hell of it and was knocking em down wayyyyyyy out there and still nailin em up close too...liked it so much I left it in all season...I like the Polychoke too..choke it tight if they are staying high and open it wide if they are coming in close..I buy the 100 round value packs at wallyworld.

Maxus, if you think the spring season is fun wait till the fall, much bigger flocks, migrators, cut fields, way more aggressive, crow hunting heaven!

This spring season is way too short :-( I agree, the fall is the time!! I gotta try that sniping too, I bet that is fun.

Got two with the 17 today. Sat in the barn, propped up the gun on a rest, shot left handed and waited. They came in on a silage pile and shot one. Stayed put and waited about 30-40 minuets and got another.
Took out the camera to take a picture and........ SOMEONE DID NOT PUT THE SD CARD BACK IN!!!!!!!!!!!!!
