I've got my old Winchester Model 43 .22 Hornet lined in. Bought it when I was 16 (used) so it's a legitimate antique . It was responsible for the demise of a ton of 'chucks back on the farm in NY (15 one memorable spring afternoon). I've worked up a pretty good recipe for Sierra 45 gr. SP that shoots MOA at 100 if I do my part. Wondered if anyone's using a Hornet for 'yotes? Love to have a .22-250 but there are one or two other things on the financial priority list that sets that particular dream aside.

Hey Masshntr, you took me for a walk down memory lane with your Winchester .22 Hornet. When I was a young teenager 50 years ago, I bought a used Winchester model 70 .22 Hornet and I loved that gun. With young eyes, that gun topped with a peep sight, took many chucks and crows. But when NH came up with their muzzle loader season for deer hunting, I foolishly traded it for a Hopkins & Allen "Off Hand" muzzle loader in .45 caliber which I still have today, bur do I ever miss the feel and the smooth action of that Winchester Hornet. When I'm after the yotes today, I either take my Ithaca model 37 12 ga. or my Stevens model 200 in 223 caliber, but if I still had that .22 Hornet, I wouldn't hesitate for a moment to use it on a yote; after all is said and done, it comes down to knowing how your rifle shoots and shot placement. Thanks for the memories!
