Well, I have been out a few times with my new WT caller trying to get some crows. Being new to the sport, I am still trying to figure some things out. Like decoys or no decoys, open field or woods etc etc. Had some some success with all of the above, but finally got something that worked well. We setup in a field early in the morning with just two flocked decoys and the caller out 20 yards from the woods. We went really heavy on the camo and piled branches around us. The WT doesn't take long to bring in the birds, and they were flying in from the east along the wood-line. We lit them up as they came across. Had ones and twos coming by constantly for about 30 minutes straight. Awesome time for the kids. The key things that made this day a success, was great camo and limited movement. The decoys look pretty cool too. More fun coming this weekend .... Attachments:

On that occasion we had two decoys setup and they were coming by to take a look. It seemed like the caller would pull them into range of sight of the decoys and then they would circle around them.
However, on Saturday morning we had a similar setup in a mowed field with the two decoys. The caller started and 3 crows showed up on a tree, about 200 yards away. The started flying in, and less than 100 yards away, turned and flew off. They could not see us, but something spooked them. Have no idea what. We kept the caller running and could hear the birds calling behind the trees, but they would not return. Smart birds !!
