Well, it took a while but I finally got my coyote gun put together and sighted in. I bought an almost new Blueberry Barrel works 17" .223 barrel. I got if from Kittery. New cost is 450 and I got it for 250. I made a forearm from an old encore one but ordered one from Blueberry as it fits better and looks better on the gun.
I took it out tonight and sighted it in at 50 yards using my hood as a rest. First target is first 7 shots. I was using the cheap federal FMJBT 50gr. 1st three shots were at the center. The last three I fired in quick secession and I think that is why they went low.
The second target is with the same ammo and is 4 5 shot groups. Group 1 is on the right. I yanked it hard right so I fired the next 4 at it. I dont know what happened to the 3rd group but the 4th was great. I was using a particle board from a dresser draw as the holder and it splintered on every shot causing the paper to tear.
Third group was with federal 50gr JHP. I had 8 rounds so I fired 3 at the center and 5 at the bottom. I fired all 8 shots in quick secession. The first group as 2 in the same hole and one just to the right. the second group has two touching and then the next 3 are in a vertical rise, due to the heat I am sure.
All in all I am EXTREMELY happy with this gun. It is small and easy to carry around and get in and out of the truck. Blueberry guarantees sub MOA accuracy at 100 yards and I believe I will be able to easily do this from a bench. I am going out in the am cruising around looking for turkeys and hopefully a yote running a wood line.
