Well good news! (well good news for me ) I called my supplier today and found out that yellow, black & green latex is now available to purchase. For some time now, Wood Haven had a lock on yellow latex just for their calls. It seems the main supplier is realizing how much money their missing out on by selling to just on person ;D So I’ve got a 100 pieces of each yellow, black and green latex on the way along with some fluoresce green call tape. The tape is going to replace the orange tape on “Tom’s Favorite” which is a little thicker than the tape used on my other calls. I will need to really give this new latex a serious test run this season before I even think of making the switch over. The Tooky River Pro Staff will need to help me on this one but don’t worry guys, you’ll still have the natural latex calls

When you get some of the new ones made, I'd buy a few. I'm a rookie, so can't help with true "field testing"... but I can sure give them a workout in the truck. I must use mouth calls a good hour a day while travelling to and from job sites. I could at least be a live test as to how long the latex holds up to use. Maybe I'm weird, but I'm finding that when I'm stressed out from a job all I need to do (once in the truck - so no one thinks I've totally lost it) is toss a call in my mouth and start doing a turkey purr. That sound is relaxing to me. I must have spent forty five minutes listening to myself purr and cluck on the ride home tonight. And my wife says I'm obsessed???

Unfortunately, some dumbass from Indiana listened to his wife's "planning" and we now have kids with birthdays on April 26 and May 9. It'll be fine later in life when I can take them to the woods "on their birthday", but right now it limits at least a weekend day or two for parties....
I have been known to ask my wife around the end of September if she's ready to become a widow for a few months though. ;D

;D You're right... I'm hooked. I'm sick of practicing. I wanna hunt some birds. Becky has already resigned herself to a year-round widow of some sort or another. It goes from Jan/Feb/March ice fishing and sportsmans shows... April opening of salmon season... May is turkey month for me starting this year... June/July/Aug striper fishing, salmon trolling & Lake Ontario trips... September is bear hunting... October/Nov/Dec deer hunting. Somehow though, I did agree to an October wedding. So, she gets a week every hunting season for an anniversary trip somewhere without rods or guns. I guess I can work around that...

Becky and I decided we'd take a ride to Vermont this Saturday and try to locate some gobblers and a reasonably located motel. (The hunting camp I used to go to isn't really an option anymore... family issues. ) Then we'll make a weekend trip up there (maybe first weekend) for me to hunt in the mornings and then do "couples stuff" in the afternoons. She said she liked the idea of fresh turkey. Once she heard the bargain pricing of the VT license she was like "heck yeah"... now I think she expects a VT deer to find its way home this fall too. Who am I to argue? She says she considers it my way of "going to the grocery store". Fresh vittles. She says she has no interest to hunt, but she does enjoy cod jigging and striper fishing. So... we do get to spend some time in the outdoors together. She even said she wanted to go camping this year. That really surprised me... in a good way.
