you need to do your homework before setting down and shooting coyotes. Kind of like Deer scouting only coyotes are much more crafty.

Nice Rifle. Good coyote round too! .243 will do a good job. Tips. Locate them at night and then Google earth the site you got the response from. Make a plan and try it out. Scouting from the chair will save you a lot of walking and night locating will let you know that the coyotes are there. Watch the wind and use the maps to lay out a plan. Then, well it may all not work. Like browning204 said. They are god awful crafty. The coyote will go against the grain some of the time and others just plan come in to the call. The main thing is to get out there and hunt them. Don't be fooled in thinking the caller will do all the work. You have to be in the right spot for the ambush. That is where hunting comes into play. Find a friend that will hunt with you and work as a team. You may take a coyote by chance, but to beat him at his own game. Well, that is something to experience. If you are near Barrington NH, and you want to go on a hunt let me know. Dan and I hunt them as hard as we can from Dec-March. We have Foxpro and Wt callers plus, I have hand held calls as well. Dan shoots a .243 and I an S&W AR .223. Highwaystar P.S. Browning204 what are you up to? We should get togeather and go on a hunt. Are you still hunting them coyotes? PM me.
