Well after a heavy downpour most of the weekend it got semi sunny n nice Sunday afternoon so I grabbed my Powerline 1000 air rifle and did a slow stalk along the edge of a semi cut cornfield looking for the elusive gray squirrel...it was a bit muggy out and I soon discovered the mosquitoes are not quite ready to give up the ghost just yet...I saw a squirrel on the very edge of the treeline along the corn field so I eased up on him and missed an incredibly easy shot by jerking the trigger...which is a bad thing...GRRRR...my next shot I resolved to be more careful...I was easing along when all of a sudden a huge squirrel came out of the treeline and started working his way around the cut section of the field...I slowly eased off the safety and pulled the rifle up and got him in the crosshairs...scope was on 3x...he was working towards me paying no attention to me...when he was about 20 feet away...I had the crosshairs on him waiting for him to stop moving...he finally stopped and was facing straight towards me...I settled the + right between his eyes and slowly applied pressure...that d**n air rifle has a HEAVY trigger pull...finally felt the trigger break...crack and weird recoil of the gun...kept the scope on him..saw him fold up and go limp instantly...hit him just right of center...instant kill...big male squirrel....heres the pic:

Nice So how accurate are those air guns? I've got issues with fly squirrels around our house. They were getting into our chimney chase but we think we've fixed that. Now last night I heard those little bastards in the trees squeaking away. Took out my Surefire and there was two running up and down the tree. They both sat long enough that if I had "Natalie" or "Big Ben", I could have sent at least one into the next world in several small pieces but shooting that late around here wouldn't be good. I need something that's silent and deadly! NO I'm not going there so neither should you ;D ;D ;D

Night shooting if your close enuff id try some .22 rat shot its my preferred chipmunk medicine around the house haha...those flying squirrels are pretty small most any pellet gun should whack em...every household needs a pellet gun for varmint defense ")...Ive taken a woodchuck with mine also but its a 1000+ fps job...KO's squirrels and such...I hate to steer anyone there but Rileys has a rack of pellet guns or hit wallyworld..I paid 99.99 for mine.

P.S. I ahd a different pellet gun with a red dot on it...used to go to my brothers farm and at his request..wait till the pigeons were roosted in the rafters of his barn at night...put the flashlight on them...red dot on em...crack!....used to clean em right out in no time at all...id say for night ops a pellet gun and a red dot.
