Cabela's Alaskan Guide Series® Headlamps
The XG Green Model is outfitted with a white Max-brite LED with 70 lumens of output and 90 hours of run time. It also has three 5mm green LEDs that put out 15 lumens for up to 120 hours. Operates on three AA batteries (included). Weight: 8 oz. I just recently bought the XG Model headlamp and man I’m impressed with how well it lit things up I got it a week ago for while I’m out fishing and it gets dark on me. It should be a great combination of lighting with my Sure Fire when heading to the deer stand or where ever I’ve put to roost my next victim.

I was thinking of getting the a Petzl headlamps but the newer ones wouldn't be available until September or something like that I wanted one now and the price was right for the one I bought. We used Petzl headlamps that blows the ones you see in the hunting catalogs away for caving in WV. I had to borrow it from the guy we were caving with seeing the cost of buying one for the little caving I did and for hunting was at the time, more than my bow set up Petzl definitly make top of the line headlamp The green light for heading in and the white for everything else seems to be enough for my needs. The one thing I wish it had was a way to change the light beam from a spot to a flood like a MAG-LITE.

I have a decent Petzl head lamp, but like tom I LOVE my surefires. I have been thinking about getting the new Surefire Saint, 0-100 lumens, run time of 6-144 hours and runs on both 123 lithium and AA batteries. I have not seen on yet and not sure if they come with a filter. If they do......well maybe it will be an early birthday present for me!!

I sent a message asking them if it came with a filter or could be adapted to have one. That will decide if I get it our not.
