1 THING I PUT ON MY E-CALLER IS SOME GOOD TURKEY SOUNDS, A TURKEY LOST YELP, TURKEY PANIC SOUNDS AND A SEQUENCE OF A COYOTE ATTACKING A TURKEY...MY REASONING BEHIND THIS IS THAT WITH THE SUPER ABUNDANCE OF TURKEYS THEY OFFER A SUBSTANTIAL MEAL OPPORTUNITY TO COYOTES...AND I KNOW SEVERAL GUYS THIS YEAR WHO HAVE SHOT COYOTES THAT STALKED THEIR TURKEY DECOYS(MkM), WHILE THEY WERE TURKEY CALLING....AND HAD SEVERAL PEOPLE TELL ME ON THEIR FARMS THEY HAD SEEN COYOTES ATTACKING AND GETTING TURKEYS, ESPECIALLY POULTS....I PLAN ON USING THESE SOUNDS IN CONJUNCTION WITH A TURKEY DECOY AND HOPEFULLY BRING IN SOME DOG.....IM WONDERING IF ANYONE ELSE HAS USED THIS TACTIC AND HAD ANY SUCCESS?

i've had a coyote rush in on me and grab my boot when i tried to get up once while turkey hunting. it was just getting light and i was doing some soft tree yelping with a mouth call. i damn near shot my own foot off in self defense. so, yes i believe you are thinking in the right direction.

GMB, holy hell I would have had to change the mossy oak union suit haha.....Tom is that a stab at e-callers?.....ill get Browning in on this !.... .....I use both...but it seems with the turkey decoy and the sounds a e-caller would work perfectly for this scenario.

I had some sneaking around me at daylight in the spring turkey season when I was calling but they went cross field and downwind of me then dissappeared so im sure they scented me.

Not at all, I own a Loman e-call I just don't lug it around with me. I probably would if I can find the re-charger cord for it I used a Johnny e-caller when I lived in MD/PA and we slammed a ton of reds & grays over the years with it. If I was taking a stab at e-callers, I would make a post asking a coyote count from those that own the high end e-callers and pretty much only hunt coyotes I'm 100% positive that there's plenty of guys (especially those VT coyote slamm'in guys) that would blow my lousy 4 coyotes out of the water but I'm also sure there's a few that won't come close and I don't hunt them exclusively

Im more of a fox guy myself ")....and as you have more free day time then me your welcome to use my high end caller anytime for a test run....it does have a few buttons but im sure i can train you in a few hours:):)im just getting back into the game after a long absence...all we ever used back in the day was a rabbit squealer....or bait....its a high tech world now fo sho....if i only had a wildlife technologies caller like Browning....sighhhhhhhhh....maybe ill just shoot more ducks....")

The only issue you may have using turkey sounds while coyote hunting is you might call in a CO wondering why you are using turkey sounds out of season

I dont think there is any seasonal restrictions on turkey calling, I think its the shooting of the turkeys that is restricted ")

Yep. They're out patrolling the lakes and snowmobile trails where they can make some money for the State. Don't think they'd be wasting any time doing CO work, do you?

Honestly I have been hunting and living in southern NH for around 15 years and have never not once EVER met a CO in the field and got my hunting license checked...I have had it checked while checking in tagged game at a check in station but thats it...even crow hunting which is loud as hell and lots of shooting...makes ya wunda...

They have so many duties I'm surprised they all don't work 100 hour weeks. Its amazing all the stuff they have to do on a daily basis, then they are on call 24/7 for anytime some yahoo gets lost or some deer gets hit by a car or whatever. Couldn't pay me enough to do that job.
