You lucky dog I'm need (but only looking right now) to replace my varmint gun, I’ll have to see how you like it and what it comes in.

How does it shoot? I think you made a good buy. I also predict the price of these guns may take a sharp increase in '09 when they realize how much demand is placed on the gun...I may be wrong. I cannot ignore the price vs accuracy of this rifle. The general market opinion is that this gun is borrowed designs from several manufactures. Who cares right? As long as it groups moa/sub moa then let it be a hybred. I have been interested in the .25-06. I heard they supposed to hit the market in August but it appears the factory has not delivered yet...most likely tooling delays. I am not a big fan of the composite stocks. If I was to buy one I would want to drop in a laminate stock but I do not believe the after market stocks are out yet as the gun is too new. I may wait until '09. There is a dedicated Marlin website with a specific sub category for the XL7's. www.marlinowners.com/forums/index.php
