thats some nice looking ground! I have a question you might be able to answer.....when you put in a food plot like that is there any conflict with baiting laws?...i mean like the difference between dumping a bag of corn and actually growing a plot of corn. I guess im stumblingly asking if there are any laws governing growing a crop strictly for deer food?....id love to put in a small plot.

I live in Vermont and food plots are not included under our baiting laws. In fact, F&W encourages the creation of food plots and habitat improvement in general. I guess the difference in your example is that a bag of corn is in a single location at a specific time. Animals are very close to each other and possibly touching. Chance for Chronic Waste. A field of corn is spead out, animals each it at different times, and the best part is that if left standing it can last into the critical winter months.
The federal WHIP program (Wildlife Habitat Improvement Program) also includes food plots as one of the available tasks. I can't speak on how NH views food plots, but I can't imagine they would be included in any baiting laws, if you have any of them. Best to check with F&W to be sure though.
If you think about it, how could they differentiate between a farmer planting a corn field or you planting a corn field. No difference.

thats kinda what i was thinking...we have a camp in VT so i figured your info would be dead on. Ya never know cuz there are some strangeeeeeeeee game laws out there. I got interested in a plot when I was watching a place where they had built a house, but then lost funding so there was a partial house with a small lawn that was mostly clover, and unoccupied, well the tiny patch of clover was a deer magnet they were in it like clockwork every night and bedding near it.

Looking good there Rob. I've gotta get back to NY soon and plant some more stuff there for summer and in another month or so something for fall.

Looks like this should be a decent buck. It's the 5th buck I have seen so far.

Boy they are looking nice I just planted a small plot the other day with the No-Plow stuff. I wish I had taken my camera for some before and after photos. If it comes in I'll be a happy hunter
