I just got a .260. We ordered it 2 weeks ago but we weren't able to pick it up until today. I will be using it for big game next year and on crows and woodchucks until then. Here are some pictures of the rifle. We put the scope on it today and reloaded a few rounds. We have it sighted in at 75 yards right now. I shot a group of three with all bul let holes touching. Tomorrow we will shoot some rounds through the chronograph to check the speed. Hopefully I will get a coyote and some crows with it soon.

Nice looking rifle. What model is it?
I thought long and hard about getting my daughter a .260. I ended up going with a Remington Model Seven in a 7mm-08 because it can be loaded up a 175 grain bullet which would be better for elk. I think the .260 could go up to a 140 grain.
Good luck with it . . . Rob

It is the model 7 in remington. The highest grain bullet the barnes reloading manual shows is the 140 grain. It may go higher though I will have to check some of the other reloading manuals. I did shoot it a bit more today, but will have to do some more reloading. My dad and I will probably be going to the Adirondacks next year for black bear and white tail. If so, this is the gun I will use.

Good choice for an all around rifle I'm sure you'll be putting down a few whistle pigs, deer and coyotes using this gun. Good luck

Troutpro,
I have a question for you. My daughters Model Seven finally came in. It's in a 7mm-08. I have a Leupold VX-II 3x9 coming for it. I was curious what kind of base and rings you put on yours? I was thinking of getting a quick release base, but don't see any made for it. I may just go with the Leupold base but thought I would check to see what you have and how you like it.
Thanks, Rob

It is a Warne. I really can't say much about it. Out of 3 shots I normally have 2 about a half inch apart and one 2 or 3 inches away. I think it is just me though. I haven't shot a rifle in a while so I am a bit rusty . I normally can tell which shot was off before looking.
