Hey deershed, I just got back on from my computer being down. That apple orchard look familiar! It would happen to be over by Brink/Blunt Road? Congratulations on find 100+ this year Jacob and I will be home in a few weeks! Maybe we'll stop over and get a photo of him with all your sheds. I'm bringing down my 220 swift and maybe hitting Wayne's place for ground hogs, are they out pretty good now?

You guys are both game magnets. I hope you can find a guy wearing some of those this fall.
I don't find many, but they tend to be nice - a 10 and 12 pt. this year.

masshntr- We come from a family of 6 and only three of us ended up with hunting/fishing running through our veins like our Dad. Deershed, PAhunterman (not on the forum yet) and myself are the only ones in the family that are sure to keep the bloodline running. One of our other brothers couldn't hunt (CP at birth) and the other two just pretend to be hunters one week out of the year. I believe the one has found more road kill deer to his name than he's ever seen in the woods ;D ;D and I'm not exaggerating ;D

Well, I've heard Jacob owl-hoot, so the blood's going to keep running.

MK-M-GOBL-that orchard shed was a local shed off Jack's Mt.At first I thought it was the mate to the buck that ran into PAhunterman's fence knocking off an antler.Turned out to be off a different buck. Mrs. PAhunterman was sitting on the back porch when a buck tried going though their chain link fench. The buck was carring both sides when it showed up and left with only one side.Something like what the two of us got to witness. ;D We haven't been out after the g-hogs yet.Stacy and I are in a local contest so we thought we'd let them fatten up a little first. Most the hayfields haven't seen their first cuttings yet too. masshntr-When you wear camos 3/4's of the year things seem to happen for you. ;D I don't know about MK-M-GOBL,but I've been told I was born 100yrs. too late. I will say shedhunting down here is alot easier then shedhunting up North in the big woods. Some sheds you find right in people's backyards. Here's a couple of my kids out shedding. The bloodline will continue from my side. Stacy on a upstate Pa elk shed hunt when he was 7yrs.old.This pic was taken at the bottom of the mountain. On top there was a 1 1/2' of snow. Here was Stacy last year after finding a matched set. More pics to come.

Keep them coming ;D I remember that fence buck you and I were hunting ;D I thought my legs were going to fall off if I did that drive one more time! Three or four drives in 18" of snow only to have the buck come running up to us 10 yards on the other side of a fence and get caught up in it ;D He ripped his one antler off just to get free.

LOL I can't get over that you found my rattle horns! It's been a long long time since we hunted over there. I can't remember if you said the rope had them still tied together or if you just saw the rope around the bases? Either way it was, it's still amazing that you found them ;D Are you finding any good sheds in there this year? I'd like to get in there this season and hunt across the overgrown field toward the top left corner. I don't think I ever told you what Raymond saw down there this past bow season over by the Poole Store! I'll leave you with this until I talk to you this weekend. Well you know what kind of deer Raymond shoots right? (if not look in the deer photos, I'll post his mounts) He said he missed an opportunity at what would have been his largest rack buck ever this past season! I'll tell you the story this weekend

After finding the shed in 04 from that MA Monster Buck taken last month, it's got me into this. I plan to take my 6yr old daughter out this year looking for them. Any advice when to start shed hunting? And when I find one, what's the best way to start looking for the other one. I hear they're usually nearby one another.

I also was wondering when to start looking for them. Are they normally on trails or off? Is there any types of areas that are more likely to have sheds?
