I did not get drawn but my dad did. He got drawn for d2.
My dad is 73 years old, has both hips replaced and does not get out in the woods like he used to. Neither one of us has ever hunted that area nor have we hunted moose.
So here are my questions:
Would anyone be willing point us in the right direction if they are familiar with that area or put us in contact with someone who could help.
Does anyone know of a guide in that area as that may be a posibility
Are there some cheap places to stay for the week?
ANY and ALL help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

Hey Regnar, I can point you to a place or two with clearcuts of different ages, my family has deer hunted there for 30+ years, we don't see alot of moose, but some. I can also give you a place to stay that is very reasonable, and we've been staying there for years, from the moose zone map, the place we stay is pretty much right on the intersection of D2, E3, F. If you know where Clarks Trading Post is, we stay at a motel right there and deer hunt up rt 112 a bit past Lost river.

hey congrats regnar's dad! biggest thing on my moose hunt last year was scouting and get to know some local loggers if there are any. Also, i dont know if you have a 4-wheeler, but if you do, get as many landowners permission as possible.
Chain, saw and come-alongs are also very essential. Our moose died in a mud pit so we winched her out and cut her in half.
Definetly attend the seminar. Very well worth it!!!
If you have any questions, let me know
