I have been picked once and been the alternate twice and it is a great time. It is a lot of work but well worth it. I think I'm getting a third point this year so I hope I get to go again. ;D ;D ;D

I got picked last year for D1. Killed a 700 lb cow. It took 19 years to get that permit. The hunt was really great!!! I have put in for a permit in Maine for 23 years now. It is about time to hit that one?

I got down to number two on the alternate list last year. My family has had good luck in the past. My Dad drew in 1998. He and I got a good eating 560 lb bull. I drew in 1999 and took my uncle with me and we got another small bull. We like good eating moose. In 2001 my son drew and took my uncle with him but they didn't get one. They had several chances but past for one reason or another and the my uncle got a shot at a cow and his rifle didn't go off. Still a mistery there. Keep the faith, eventually you will draw!

Dad and I hunted D1 if I remember right, and Dad and I scored early in the morning of the first day. My uncle and I hunted zone I. It was way down on our list of choices but we still got that bull on the evening of the first day. My son drew A1 and he and my uncle hunted that year and didn't get a moose for one reason or another. Uncles rifle didn't go off on one shot and my son passed on one because he didn't like the shot he had. They had a cow only license.
