Went out for the second day in a row. Yesterday was a total bust. Today I called in the same spot and should have had 10 dead birds!
I am so mad, I chose a modified choke. I should have had my full choke it and I would have demolished the birds!!!
The first one that I shot at was hit I believe, I knocked some feathers off of it and it was doing that "trying not to go down" wing flap but I could not find it.
I will go back at it next wendsday, this time with a tighter choke!!!

Good luck! I can't start until September 1st. I always have trouble getting birds to come down enough, maybe I'll have to get an owl decoy or at least some more crow decoys. The electric ones look pretty cool.

troutpro. I used an owl decoy over a dead crow last year and they came in mad! I use an owl crow fight call. I also use a MOJO crow decoy and havent seen any proof it helps yet! Good luck!

one set of birds (3) I was able to call a bunch of times, I kept shooting at them but my spread was to much.
Like I said, next time a tighter choke. I will give em hell next time.

browning, i hope you're shooting better this week. I went out this past week and knocked down a few. my buddy and i accounted for 14 over 2 days of shooting. I got 8, but do not want to start thinking about how many we should have had. Shoulda had some more last night but i missed, oh well.

I got out for a bit this afternoon. I wasn't out for long, but long enough to miss three crows I have to get some shells that are more geared to crows and probably put a tighter choke in, not like my lack of practice has anything to do with it .

Troutpro, I use mostly #8 and 7 1/2. If I find them hangin up higher I'll use #6. If I get really frustrated I use #5 turkey loads. Can't say that those help any, they do make me feel a little better but I don't hit any more birds with 'em. I went out today and started with a IC choke, switched to MOD and it helped a little bit. My biggest problem is waiting for them to get in range. I usually bust the first flock way too high and then I settle down and give them a chance to get lower. I picked up a owl from Home Depot and that thing worked like magic.
