Here's some of what my kids have taken from Youth Weekends in the last couple of years: My, at the time, almost 12 year old (with a board member from here doing the calling for us!)! My then 14 year old on Youth deer weekend, one HAPPY KID!

It's sometimes challenging, but always fun, having two youth hunters, thank God for good hunting friends, one called in the turkey (I'd never been turkey hunting), one was with the 14 year old for the deer (I was with the 12 year old at the time!). THANKS SCOUT AND PHESANT!!!! Because of you guys' help there's two more hooked hunters!
Youth weekends are awesome, nothing like the look of joy on the kids face when he gets the first shot at something!

I'll be taking a youth out this year for his first time, I can't wait to see the look on his face when he hears that first gobble! I've been scouting since the beginning of march and have plenty of birds to introduce him on. I hope he can shoot straight because he'll be having toms strutting in his lap.

Love2hunt, that first morning with my 12 year old was awesome, every time a bird, any bird, sounded off, he would turn to me "is that a turkey?", I would just smile. When that gobbler finally did sound off, his eyes just about popped out of his head! He held it together and shot the bird at about 15-20 feet, perfect shot!

That's the greatest thing in the world. That's why I love introducing people to the great sport of hunting. I don't care how old they are, when they here their first gobble, they turn into a little kid all over again. Good Luck this season, keep us updated! Tell your boy good job also!

This was Youth Turkey Weekend in Vermont April 29 & 30. My 10 year old daughter took this nice gobbler this morning at 5:45am. We had 3 birds gobbling on the roost and this was one came in after a hen did. It weighed 18.5lbs, had a 7.5" beard, and 7/8" & 1" spurs. She rolled him over at 10 yards from her Rem 870 20ga. We had a great morning! . . . Rob
