I finally got a little trigger time yesterday and today. Here is a pic from yesterday. First crow hunt for a co-worker of mine. I brought him out for some R&G where ever we could find a crow or 2. He missed quite a few but we finally got one to land in a tree and he smoked it. I shot backup for him the rest of the day and I managed 2. I would have had more if I was hunting by myself but this hunt wasn't about the numbers it was about getting someone outside hunting. Plus the weather was great and we had a few laughs. Today I took another guy out for his first crow hunt also. It was great because he had never shot a crow before even though he is a hardcore Grouse and Deer hunter. The best part was I didn't have to do anything but show up with my decoys and caller. He had all the permission and access to places I would have spent months trying to get! First Bird for the "Seasoned Hunter" My kills for today.... Sunday I am taking a youngster out with his dad. I won't even bring a gun, figure I will let them have all the opportunities. So it was nice to put some down this week.

Took out an 11 y/o and his dad. It was very cool to see them both knock down their first crow. I need a day to hunt by myself now.... LOL

I have been getting really itchy to knock down a crow lately. After doing a little research I found out Mass opened their crow season on July 2. So I bought a License online, did some internet scouting for WMA's and headed out last Monday. I bagged this guy in 4 stands and fighting lots of mosquitoes. But it was worth it to hear the "thump" after I tagged him. Action was incredibly slow I only called 2 birds in so I am wondering if the young birds are off the nest yet. Anyway it was worth it!
