I am getting pretty fired up for Crow Season! I figure it will give me a good opportunity to scout for turkey as well. I remember seeing a TON of turkeys last year while I was out hunting crow last year. I just gained permission to hunt a field that is holding 15+ crows every morning so I figure I should get at least 1 or 2 of them on opening morning. Just need to get in there this afternoon to build a blind and get everything ready. Time to get the trusty shotgun out and start dropping some nasty crow!

I cant wait to just get outdoors and hunt again!!!! Gonna be out early Saturday morning!!! I know what you mean about finding turkeys while crow hunting...Last year I was hunting with a good friend of mine along the Merrimack river and we were so distracted by all the gobbling around us we probably missed alot of ops on crows!!! ;D

In the spirit of generosity and sharing I will be much more specific than thunderchicken was. This weekend I will be in the middle of "my" cornfield dug down into the middle of a bovine manure pile smelling the sweet gentle odor of post digested silage and hopefully gunpowder.

maxus don't let TC confuse ya...he meant he knows that "sweet gentle odor of post digested silage" ;D A little OT from crow hunting but I miss the smells of a working farm. Sound gross but it's probalby from growing up and being around farms most of my life. I will admit it though, a few of those farm smells I'm talking about are and can be a little bit overwhelming sometimes I use to love bow hunting this one stand location in MD that was downwind of a huge dairy farm. Mid October hunts on a crisp chilly morning, the smell of the farm rolling through the creek bottom and the pre-rut activity of sparing with a little chasing going on around ya...just one of those hunting moments you never forget
