I'm thinking if we keep having bare ground for the spring crow season it will be a great season being able to get out in the fields after them with no snow! ...Been seeing some good numbers out there.

Yep it looks like crows in NH will be in trouble soon Anyone ever wonder why NH has a seaon on them? Is it just because they are migratory birds

Yep it looks like crows in NH will be in trouble soon Anyone ever wonder why NH has a seaon on them? Is it just because they are migratory birds That is exactly the reason due to a stupid treaty with Mexico who really obeys all our laws as we all know ..although some states have told them to stuff it and have no closed season on crows!...as firestormhtr pointed out many of them technically no longer migrate either !!...which I brought up up with NHFG and also a dove season..like talking to a stonewall, useless endeavor.

Hank Speaking of pigeons...I also like hunting them as a all season species and have a box of pigeon decoys heading my way though the mail right now ...cant wait to try em out!

Yeah well telling F&G that is another story ;D As for the dove, it wasn't F&G that did that one. Some bird lovers wanted dove added to the "song bird list" which they did. Now they will NEVER be taken off or open to hunting

Just a thought on crow hunting as it becomes more popular and electronic callers up the kill numbers..a couple time while out on the hunt I hit spots that somebody had already hunted and found dead crows in the road and in the fields and also saw several wounded crows grounded out in fields and watched them run when you got near them..Just a suggestion a good rule of thumb is to go pickup your dead birds and dump them in the bush where they r not readily in sight of walkers/hikers/runners or the land owners and wounded birds in the open are bad pr for hunters and also anyone who wounds one ethically should finish it off if at all possible...I like to bring a rimfire rifle with me so if I get a downed runner I can pick him off with the rifle if he gets out of shotgun range and they can run like hell in a cornfield as you all probably know..")

F&G told me youd have to get a pollytishun to get a bill to take them off the songbird list and then open a season....there was a season but it was closed due the controversy...buncha pansies !

F&G told me youd have to get a pollytishun to get a bill to take them off the songbird list and then open a season....there was a season but it was closed due the controversy...buncha pansies ! Well then.....let's get a petition going and see who we can get to bring dove hunting back I think it would be great but feel it would extremely tough to get a lot of hunters on board seeing most of them never dove hunted or grew up knowing anything about it We would be asking them to do something that's not traditionally the NH way. Take the chosen few for instance ...if it's "not EXACTLY as they do it, then it’s not right for anyone to do it" It would like asking them to give up their first born or their left blank ;D I'm learning that those kinds of people can be worst than any antis or bird lovers to deal with Let's see if we can get a dove season started. I'll ask a few people I know that are politically connected as to who or where to start and post what I find out
