First of all, there’s an hour difference in the times of these photos because I didn’t set them back. Now here a couple of reasons why I don’t hunt by the “if it’s brown it’s down” theory and why I’m content with eating tag soup As for the “youwish1” buck, he seems to have a messed up left side on him. I couldn’t see it on my card viewer in the woods but it doesn’t really matter much to me. As long as he’s a mature deer, I’ll take him if he walks into my bow range Notice in the photos that the tarsal glands on the doe isn't really close to being dark. The buck doesn’t seem to be dark either My mock scrape is right over the left side of the stump. As I was heading to my camera, I noticed a buck had made a fresh "CC" rub just off to the left of my camera lens. Pretty much where the buck is leaving is where the rub was. So I guess its par for what a few of us have been wondering about the rut and lack of scrapes in past seasons. I’m sure that some people have been finding scrapes but talking to someone whose office is a bow shop, the majority of hunters he’s been talking with…they are not seeing the sign you normally see for this time of the year.

Actually, I hunted that stand during bow. I've convinced this was the guy that came in after shooting light and snorted at me! I mentioned something about his parentage at the time, as I recall...

I’m heading in later shuffle around cameras, refill dripper and clear out those small trees in from of my camera set. I’ll be putting out my Moultrie with it set on the 3-shot setting in hopes I get more images of any deer coming in. The camera that got the big half rack will be moved to the other side of this piece near another stand in case he’s over there messing around. I wish I had more than just one bottle of dripper juice left I’d set out the other one out as well. I see a trip to find more is in order this evening so I can put my third dripper out on the mock scrape the other buck was working

I thought by the thread title I was going to be looking at a dead deer? You are coalman….he just doesn’t know it yet ;D Believe me coalman, I’d much rather be posting in the “Hunters Success Photos” board I’ve been very patient this year not seeing a ton of sign or putting too much hunting pressure on the big deer. This year I’ve passed on a great looking doe, 3 pointer, a 5 pointers and backed out of spots where I've got a ton of does running around. I'm just waiting for something like this to come by my stand and now that I’m seeing them getting active.....it’s game on
