Curious to hear if anyone has any tactics for calling the crows back once they have been shot at. The only time we have been able to have some sustained shooting is by killing the entire group that flies in and then waiting for the next group. Leave a single survivor and they don't seem to want to come back. Usually requires a lot of shooters to dispatch the entire flock.
Any suggestions?

i get em in with the fighting call then blast em n let em go then wait a little then get em back with the crow distress call...or sometimes I hit the caller and when they come in I kill the call before they get there which makes em circle looking for the source of the call..ill get some shots and when they take off I hit em with another call and do it again...I find if you leave the call running they will just circle high out of range...if they are educated a bit..as in predator hunting, if you know where they are coming from instead of putting the caller in front of you...put it a ways behind you then ambush them as they fly in towards the caller behind you..sometimes you can catch em real close to the ground that way..a few tricks I have used and Im always looking for more lol.

Awesome - that sounds like a great plan. Will try that tomorrow. Are you using decoys with this setup? Where do you set them up if you have the caller behind you? I have found that when hunting a field next to tall tress they stay way high and circle. Low bushes seem to work best for bringing them in lower too.
Thanks for the suggestions.

Your welcome sir, I seldom use decoys other than an owl..sounds with no visual I think makes em look harder although some say it spooks em...def stay away from the tall trees your correct in short bushes or a field blind are best..I have shot many hiding behind my car and also sitting on a stool with my qhillie suit on in the open..hiding behind farm equipment is deadly they have no fear at all of it..crows have certain dead trees they land in over and over if you have ever noticed...perfect place to set under so you can shoot the tree top..set your e-caller under...play loud to get em wound up then kill it...they will land in the tree to look around...BANG!...I also use 2 e-callers sometimes and place them in different spots and crank crow distress on 1 and crow fight on the other gets em all confused and riled up...throw some hawk screams on one caller n crow mob on another...I guess creativity is what works for me,sometimes !..charging my callers right now and hoping to get out tomorrow")

So yesterday morning we went out early, but the fog was real thick. We got the crows all fired up but they were real reluctant to fly in the fog. So we waited until it burned off and went out again. Tried first stand with no decoys and they stayed high and a little wary. Fired a couple shots but missed.
Next stand was with two decoys and we called them in low and smoked two - the rest took off at top speed. 2 less crows eating waterfowl and song bird eggs !!
Seems they were keeping their eyes on the decoys and never saw us until it was too late.
