I have been doing a lot of locate calling at night with the WT and have covered a lot of ground. Only got one lone response from a long way off. I am seeing sign on the ground, but no responses to the calls. I setup anyway on Saturday morning (14 deg - brrrr) and never had any takers. After 45 mins I had to head for the heater.
What sounds are you guys using to locate? I hear that aggressive or territorial can sometimes make them reluctant to respond. Thoughts?

Hey bushman. How is everything? Are you planing on doing some hunting over at the farm with Dan? I have 5-6 other spots in the area that I will be hitting once I get back on my feet. If you want to get out let me know.

Hey buddy, I have been out and I am planning on doing some hunting before Christmas for sure as I have some days off. PM me you email address again please - I think I lost it. I have been scouting and some new prospects too. Like I mentioned at the start of the thread I have not had luck calling at night yet. Even at the farm

I think it is a good thing. You can do the poke and hope thing. But, with a response from the night before. Can make a plan as to the way to setup a stand. I fell you have to hit the spot the next morning. Dan and I have located, but as I think of the times you have we did not get a coyote from doing so. I called one night with my son in a swamp and got the boys going good. Dan and I went back a couple days later and the snow was all tracked up right were Clint and I called from. So, the next day thing I learned from that. Night calling and shooting is the way to go. But, NH is so hard to get all the permits. Here in Maine you have the permit in hand when you are calling. So, when you get a responce you can hunt them then and not have to wait to get the permit. Or, wait till the morning.
