I started looking at Browning pumps. I am not thrilled about paying over $600.00 for a turkey gun that is stamped "made in Japan"(BPS). I am leaning towards the Remington with thunbhole stock. this gun fits me well and is comfitable. I could get an auto loader ..but that is an expensive second shot. any input on the Winchester auto that is offered this year. I currently use a winchester 1300 combo which is camo taped and shot two turkeys fine. I think it would just be nice to have one of those nice camo finished turkey gun with a short barrel. Thanx for your input.

ya, I am a Browning fan, I have had this discussion about if the made in japan stamp changes much. Even though, I still like the quality and the way brownings shoot.

I'd say go with the Remington! But you'll find out here on the forum that I own one, 870 Express Super Magnum ;D Had a 11-87 last as well but sold due to a fluke malfunction in VT. It was fixed in no time by a local gunsmith but I've got a hard time trusting a gun that fails me in the woods. If you have the money to be buying an auto loader, look into a Benelli Black Eagle That's my next gun purchase! I do know that every time I went out hunting when I had both guns, my first choice was always the 870 pump.

I didn't think twice about it being made in Japan when I bought my NWTF BPS...if it said made in China I would have had serious doubts, but I won't badmouth Japanese quality.
I played with both shotguns before I purchased my BPS, unlike you the Browning fit me much better and the I loved the Dura-Touch finish on it...I didn't like the feel on the Remington...one thin I did just look at on the Remington is that it's even heavier than the Browning...but that's a minor thing.
I'd go with the one that fits you best, you don't want something little keep bugging you everytime you shoulder it.

Thanx for everyones input! I do like the safty on top of the BPS. And my buddy has a belguim made auto who claims most good quility steel is sold to the U.S. from japan. and I do own a jap. 7.7 which shoots good. everything from my sony TV to this pc is from there. When I took a tour of the Lancaster Pen. Harley plant I was sad to see large crates stamped "made in japan" I am still liking the Thunbhole Rem. Since I olwn a knight with thunbhole I really like these thumbhole stocks.

I'm leaning towards the Rem. but keeping an open mind until uncle sam pays up. Hope it shows up soon because I'll still need to go pattern it. Fox ridge is the only place I have seen one. The KTP did not have any thunbholes at Turkey fest. By the way. I heard something about T/C being bought by smith and wesson. Any more rumers on Cableals coming to Hooksett area? Of course I will keep the 1300 as it is a combo with a deer barrel and it is the quietest forearm i've seen. it is tight and not wiggle.

;D Picked up the 870 sps-t thunbhole today at Foxridge. I got to get out to pattern it after work this week. looks like rain sunday. It takes 3 1/2 incher's but l'ii start with the bunch of 3" loads I have. I have wanted a "Turkey gun" for a few years. I can't wait for the season and a week off of work!

Went out with the 870 sps T out this morning and got a good pattern with #5 1 3/4 oz. 3" at 30 yards. The factory set windage was dead-on! had to go up a tad on the elevation. Com'on Thursday!
